General Summary
A Food Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising staff according to food safety standards. Duties include training, scheduling, and quality control in support of management. This is a part time position. Shift will be 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Duties
- Manage inventory to ensure all necessary ingredients are stocked.
- Provide training to new staff to facilitate quick acclimation.
- Streamline kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times.
- Verify the staff is maintaining sanitation levels.
- Understands and follows policies and procedures.
- Assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities.
- Performs day to day assignments in addition to oversight duties.
- Report accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Attends training programs and participates in regular safety meetings and trainings and hazard assessments.
- Attends allergy and foodborne illness training.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma.
- 2 years kitchen related experience.
- Culinary knowledge.
- Kitchen equipment knowledge.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Conflict resolution.
- Attention to detail.
- Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
- Maintains a professional relationship with coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers and client representatives.
- Ability to stand for hours at a time.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and nights, weekends, and some holidays.
