Food Service Supervisor
About the role
The Supervisor - Nutrition & Dining manages the shift including production, service and retail operations to ensure the highest quality service to our patients, visitors, employees and guests while adhering to all regulatory requirements put forth by local, state and federal agencies.
Responsibilities
- Staff supervision
- Adherence to all local, state and federal safety and sanitation codes
- Vendor management, including periodic review to ensure highest quality and value
- Catering
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable including End of Month, End of Year documentation and recordkeeping, billing for catering, floor stocks and other interdepartmental transfers
- Food cost analysis
- Effective communication and demonstration of team-based management.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) using food service management software
- Retail/cash handling
- Flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above.
Qualifications
- Experience - Minimum of 1 year of supervisor-level experience in food service, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Licensure - Not required
- Education - 2 year degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, Business Administration or related field. RD, CDM, CFPP preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Servsafe or Food Safety Manager certified
- Cooking experience

Pay
Standard rate of $21.42 - $27.85 per hour plus benefits
Schedule
Full Time, shift hours based on department needs; rotating weekends and holidays
Location and Travel Requirements
Location: Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center- 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850
Shift: Full Time, shift hours based on department needs; rotating weekends and holidays
Travel: 25% local travel may be expected in this role to cover other locations as needed
