Food Service Student Worker

Description

Responsible for general duties in the food service department, front of house duties, back of house duties, and dish room. Responsible for cleanliness, sanitation, and customer service.

Job Duties

• Demonstrates IWCC’s core mission, vision and values
• Follow the guidelines, policies, and procedures set down by the Food Service Department
• Cashier, FOH Duties, Caterings, Back of House, Dish Room, Pizza Station, Burger Station, Panini Station and other duties as assigned
• Responsible for superior customer service practices
• Responsible for following the safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures set down by the Food Service Department
• Responsible for stocking the front of house for the next day business (i.e. clean dishes, refill condiments, re-stock sandwich bar, etc.)
• Responsible for the process involved in obtaining cash sales, credit sales, meal plans, and declining balance
• Aid in catered events if assigned
• Aid in front of house duties, when assigned
• Aid in back of house duties, when assigned
• Responsible for washing dishes, equipment, small wares, etc., when assigned
• Responsible for closing procedures when working an evening shift
• Responsible for opening procedures when working a morning shift
• Responsible for weekend hours when scheduled by management
• Responsible for following dress code and appearance requirements set down by the Food Service Department
• Regular, prompt and reliable attendance
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
• Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer oriented team
• Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
• Positive attitude
• Current IWCC student

Physical Demands

• The employee frequently is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and use hands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs
