Food Service Specialist II

About the role

RSU 24 is seeking a Food Service Specialist II to join our team at Cave Hill School in Eastbrook. This is a school year position, working eight hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Creating, maintaining, adjusting and monitoring a safe, effective working kitchen
• Ordering, storing, preparing, serving and inventorying all school food and non‑food items, after‑school snacks and special food‑related functions
• Preparing, thawing, cooking, seasoning, serving and recording foods for consumption for all students and staff dining at the school in a timely manner
• Handling and preparing all foods in accordance with sanitary requirements and State of Maine regulations for good nutrition
• Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Point of Sales cash register system (entering data, making transactions to student and adult accounts, counting money, reconciling, making deposits, delivering reports to the central office)
• Professionally cleaning equipment, work area, tables, pots and pans, knives and other cooking‑related tools
• Demonstrating a team approach through interaction with other staff, students and their families

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or GED)
• 3 years of relevant food service experience preferred
• Criminal history records check required upon hire

Pay

Competitive and based on experience, ranging from $21.38‑$25.13 per hour.
