Food Service Specialist

Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Day shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
• Weekend and holiday rotation

Location: Charlton Memorial Hospital - Fall River, MA

Responsibilities

• Prepare short-order foods, made-to-order foods, and Garde Manger for departmental feeding needs.
• Monitor food quality, temperature, and flavor; identify issues via tasting, portioning, and visual appearance, and make corrections as needed.
• Extend recipes accurately to ensure proper yields and maintain meal costs.
• Maintain up-to-date production and temperature records; report any problems to the Chef or Manager on duty.
• Keep all refrigerators and freezers clean and organized.
• Follow established sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with proper food safety/sanitation procedures and knowledge of HACCP principles preferred.
• One year of culinary experience in an institutional setting preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or sign an exemption statement for medical or personal reasons once hired.

Pay

Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience. Pay Range: USD $16.47 – USD $23.41 per hour.
