FOOD SERVICE SPECIALIST 7 (DIETARY MANAGER)

Job Summary

The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to serve the veteran population of Louisiana by providing medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the goal of returning them to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.

Job Duties

• Attends care plan meetings and conducts nutrition risk evaluations promptly according to the MDS charting schedule provided by the nursing service.
• Develops a work schedule for dietary employees.
• Inspects and monitors the kitchen using the sanitation checklist and tray list checklist and delegates all inspections as necessary.
• Responsible for forecasting the amount of supplies needed and analyzing the budget for the dietary department.

Qualifications

• Four years of food service experience in a food service operation.
• Four years of training in food technology, food service management, or in a food service-related curriculum in a trade school or technical institute.
• Forty-eight semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, food service preparation, home economics, or hotel, food service, restaurant, or institutional management.
