Food Service Prep Cook

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Food Service Prep Cook to join the Nutrition & Food Service team. In this role, you’ll help prepare fresh, nutritious meals that support patients, visitors, and staff, working alongside experienced culinary professionals in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and perform food preparation and basic cooking duties.
• Support patient meal service, retail operations, catering, and special events.
• Follow standardized recipes, production sheets, and portion standards to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist with therapeutic diet requirements and food allergy accommodations.
• Adhere to HACCP food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen and work area.
• Work collaboratively with Food Service leadership and the culinary team to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Required Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of prior full‑time experience in food service operations.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous food preparation, cooking, or food service experience; knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment; positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset.

Pay

The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.33, which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, First Shift.
