About the role

Responsibilities

  • Must be vigilant in cleaning and organizing your assigned area.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in food preparation and food serving areas.
  • Empty and clean trash containers, dispose of food and trash in a sanitary manner.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
  • Duties within our department may change based on the need of the department.
  • Duties may include but are not limited to:
    • Cashier services
    • Food preparation
    • Dining area upkeep
    • Dishwashing and custodial care
    • Assist with catering events as needed at various campus locations district wide.
  • Maintain a professional work environment, and abide by NWCC rules and policies.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by the Food Service management staff.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, be productive with minimal supervision, and have a good attendance record.
  • Must wear dark slacks and slip‑resistant shoes.
  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Two years of food‑service experience.

Schedule

Hours of operation: AM Shift – Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; PM Shift – Monday–Thursday, 10:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m., with Saturday or Sunday shifts as needed. Hours may vary to meet department needs.

Physical Demands

  • May travel to various campus locations district wide for catering events.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule due to shift changes if needed, which may include weekends or nights.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to perform tasks that may require stretching, reaching above head, and shoulders.
  • Must be able to properly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform tasks related to food preparation and kitchen sanitation.
