Food Service Manager (Panda Express) - Western Carolina University

About the role

We’re hiring a full-time Food Service Manager to join our passionate Food Services Team. You’ll help oversee staff, collaborate with teammates, and assist where needed while coordinating and leading operations. A $500 sign-on bonus is available.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain work schedules; may prepare production packets (production sheets and recipes).
• Direct daily activities to ensure safe, high-quality food production according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
• Ensure food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.
• Maintain all serving schedules; ensure food is served per menu specifications following Aramark policies and procedures.
• Maintain a sanitary department in compliance with health and safety codes and regulations.
• Conduct accurate weekly inventory; may prepare orders to ensure accurate production.
• Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel, promote growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
• Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
• Train and mentor other food service workers.
• Maintain logs for equipment maintenance and ensure food safety/temperature logs are completed with corrective actions as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance checklist and recommend equipment replacement to meet facility needs.
• Multitask effectively and perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager.
• Fill in for absent employees at the location as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm timely preparation and delivery.
• Work occasional night and weekend catered events.
• Attend food service meetings with staff and maintain communication (email, phone, inter-office mail).
• Perform cashier duties as needed and promote good public relations.

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet commitments.

Requirements

• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
• Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year of employment.
• Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
