About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, responsible for all shift management for multiple food service stations of facilities and to assist the Assistant Director in all aspects of the management of the unit.
Responsibilities
- Manage food service stations, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist in the management of the unit, including budgeting, ordering, and inventory control.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ensure compliance with physical demands and University policies.
Requirements
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Prince George’s County Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Driver’s license valid in Maryland with less than 5 points required.
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment with or without accommodation and to lift up to 15 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in extreme weather, humidity, and temperature conditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of food service experience and one (1) supervisory experience.
- Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
Skills
- Knowledge of institutional food service operations, food safety standards, and HACCP guidelines.
- Knowledge of food service software systems (e.g., inventory, POS, scheduling).
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Organization, communication, and interpersonal interactions.
- Ability to manage budgets, ordering, and inventory control.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Pay
$60,040 - $72,048 annually.
