Food Service Manager

About the Role

Cook and serve a nutritious lunch for students and staff. Provide guidance and supervision for all food service staff, including training new employees, resolving routine employee situations, and completing payroll sheets. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Food Service.

Schedule

9-month position, 8 hours per day.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of previous experience as a cook, chef, or food preparer in a restaurant or cafeteria setting.
• Math skills to follow and convert recipes.
• Organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate school food service equipment.
• Good oral and interpersonal communication skills to provide directions to others.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Knowledge, understanding, and practice of sanitation procedures.
• Written skills to complete daily reports and logs.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and proven computer usage skills to create and maintain accurate records regarding district purchases and distribution.
