About the role
Food Service Manager needed for school food service in the Newton, NJ area.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, full time, day shift. No weekends or holidays. Summers off.
Responsibilities
- Manage the operation on a daily basis.
- Food preparation: cooking a variety of foods, following recipes, portion control, production standards according to NSLP guidelines.
- Ordering: placing orders, inventory, assist in marketing promotions.
- POS/Register: assist workers with cash collection, follow record‑keeping procedures.
- Safety: endure all personal protection equipment is in use at all times.
- Cleanliness: maintain a clean and safe kitchen at all times.
- Staffing: secure food service workers and substitutes.
Requirements
- ServSafe® Certification (a plus).
- Ability to obtain proper documentation to work in schools.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced team environment.
