Responsibilities

• Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives
• Manage hiring, training, and development of department staff
• Ensure fair employment practices
• Participate in department head and interdisciplinary care plan meetings
• Purchase food and supplies within budget
• Plan menus and ensure compliance with regulations
• Interview residents or family members for diet history
• Monitor food production and storage
• Maintain quality and timeliness of food service
• Develop and implement procedures for department equipment
• Review resident diet information and care plans
• Recognize staff for exceptional care and performance
• Make job assignments and set priorities
• Orient new staff and participate in recruitment
• Adhere to company policies and state/federal regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
• Current license to practice as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Licensed Dietitian (LD)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience in managing a food service department
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of nutrition principles and practices
• Ability to manage budgets and supplies
• Experience with food safety and sanitation regulations
