Food Service Director in Training

About the role

The Food Service Director plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of a large food service operation within a secure correctional facility. This position oversees operational and financial responsibilities, supervising an Assistant Food Service Director and/or a team of Food Service Supervisors and/or Cooks.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of a large food service operation within a secure correctional facility.
• Oversight of operational and financial responsibilities.

• Preparation, serving, and clean-up of food.
• Completion of necessary reports based on kitchen sanitation and safety standards.
• Application of basic accounting and mathematical abilities to complete reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Five years of management or supervisory experience in a food service environment.
• A valid driver’s license.
• ServSafe Certification.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience managing and applying kitchen sanitation and safety standards and methods.
• Basic accounting and mathematical abilities to complete necessary reports.
