Food Service Associate (nomnom Sullivan | Part-Time)

Salary Range: $17.13–$20.83 hourly, plus $3.00 shift differential eligibility

Responsibilities

• Cashier duties, including accurately ringing up customers and taking various forms of payment
• Answering questions about the food items offered
• Food preparation
• Adhering to safe and sanitary food handling practices
• Replenishing supplies and food
• Cleaning surface areas, throwing away trash, etc.
• Receiving and unloading stock
• General housekeeping duties
• Resolving customer complaints and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Obtain and maintain all required food and age-restricted product certifications within 2 weeks of employment
• Assist with store standard operations, including lotto, alcohol and tobacco sales, cashiering, and fuel attendant duties
• Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service
• Work all assigned shifts, arriving on time, in uniform, and ready to work
• Act as a positive team player, working cohesively with other employees and contributing to a positive work environment
• Comply with company policies and procedures, including all safety and environment policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
• 20/40 vision (corrective lenses acceptable) to see numbers on store inventory, items purchased, gas pumps, and identify pump issues
• Communicate information and ideas clearly so others will understand
• Follow safety procedures, including responding to safety alarms and contacting 911 for emergencies
• Frequent reaching overhead, gripping, wrist movement, and finger dexterity for restocking, packaging, operating POS systems, handling payments, issuing change, operating gas pumps, and general housekeeping
• Frequent squatting and kneeling for obtaining and replenishing items
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck)
• Frequent lifting of 20 pounds or less from floor to waist, overhead, and carrying short distances
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Climb a stepladder to stock or retrieve materials and place or remove signs
• Exposure to gas fumes, solvents, and occasional noise

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in retail sales, food service, and handling cash preferred
• Perform basic math accurately
• Ability to communicate in English (orally and in writing), including proficient telephone communication skills
• Ability to work various shifts as scheduled and arrive on time
• Ability to work with equipment, tools, and materials as required
• Ability to perform essential duties and work in the conditions described
