Contract Length: 13 months Location: Akron, OH Pay Rate: $15.50/hr Overview The Food Service Associate will support the café operations by performing a variety of food service tasks, including line cooking, food prep, and catering responsibilities. This role requires a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service, with an emphasis on teamwork and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Proactively supports leadership and coworkers, following well-defined practices and proceduresProactively embraces a safe work environment and supports a workplace of respect, appreciation, and acceptance for everyoneIntermediate understanding and application of Food Service fundamentals, including sanitation, procurement, product rotation, customer service, knife skills, and hygieneLine cooking responsibilities in a fast-paced environment; including set-up, preparing foods to order specifications and thorough end of shift cleaning to include equipment and operational areas and safe food storagePreparing and setting up salad bar station including food prep, inventory ordering/management and cleaningCatering responsibilities for both internal and to-go, including cold food prep, packing, delivering, breaking down, courier coordinating, occasional planningFrequently demonstrates a sense of urgency for reaching goals and meeting deadlinesManages multiple daily tasks and medium projects simultaneouslySound decision making by developing alternatives and recommendations for customers, project deliverables, and to improve work processes Required Skills Minimum of 3 years relevant work experienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferredDemonstrate a questioning attitude to learn, produce results, and develop relationshipsDemonstrate growth in use of research techniques such as recipe research and development, and basic industry trendsAble to work as part of a teamMust be able to physically perform tasks involving bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and walking and standing for extended periods of timeManager level ServSafe Certified or become certified within six months of hiringUnderstand best practices and techniques for addressing internal and external stakeholder concernsTime management skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsDeliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines Why Should I Apply?
