Food Service Assistant - Sanitation

About the role

Aids in meal and snack preparation, assembly, and service for patients, cafeteria patrons, and other customers. Assists in maintaining food and supply inventory, operates food service equipment, and performs clerical tasks related to diet orders and production.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals and snacks to patients, staff, and customers
• Cleans and sanitizes food service areas and equipment
• Assembles and serves food trays
• Requests and stores food and supplies
• Operates food service equipment
• Portions and assembles meals according to menus and policies
• Takes inventory and maintains records
• Performs clerical duties related to diet orders and production
• May transport and retrieve patient food carts
• Maintains performance, patient, and employee satisfaction and financial standards
• Adheres to DCH Health System and Nutritional Services policies and procedures

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Minimum 75% score on ServSafe class (preferred but not required)
• Normal or corrected vision and hearing
• Ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend English
