About the role
The Food Services department at The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) provides a high-quality lunch for staff and their guests. This department also services numerous breaks and in-house functions each week, preparing and serving food for special after-hours events.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and serves food
- Potentially operates cash register, accepting payment and making change as necessary
- Greets guests with a smile
- Puts away dry stock in storeroom, refrigerated food in cooler, and frozen food in freezer when delivered by vendors
- Maintains orderly, clean kitchen, eating and service areas, storage, and cooler/freezer facilities
- Serves meals in appropriate proportions
- Aids front line cooks as necessary
- Distributes and keeps stocked, prepared and serve-ready food to the line
- Fulfills BGEA policies and procedures as set forth in Policy Manual
- Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for ministry, its donors, and volunteers
- Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public
Requirements
- Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
- Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
- Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
- Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food preparation
- Knowledge of methods, principles, processes, materials, techniques, and equipment used in quantity food preparation and customer service
- Knowledge of proper food storage and handling techniques, and the quality, safety, and sanitary standards involved in food preparation
- Knowledge of production and processing, including cost controls and other techniques for effective operations
- Knowledge and experience in assessing, coordinating, and preparing food prep levels
- Ability to perform basis math functions
Skills and Knowledge

- Ability to convey a positive, professional image to the public and BGEA employees
- Clean, neat appearance

Benefits Summary
Part-time employees working at least 20 hours and fewer than 30 hours each week are eligible for partial benefits.
