Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of the Arkansas Department of Education Manager's Training for Child Nutrition
• Successful experience in quality food service operation preferred

Terms of Employment

• Contract length: 178 days
• Evaluation based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, performed by the food service manager with assistance from the food service supervisor

Job Goal

The Food Service Assistant Manager will assist the food service manager in all aspects of the assigned location’s cafeteria Child Nutrition Program (CNP) operation, creating an environment that supports healthy food habits while maintaining program integrity and customer satisfaction.

Performance Responsibilities

• Fulfills all District policies and procedures
• Maintains knowledge of all state and federal regulations
• Performs duties as assigned by the manager, including working in extreme temperatures, standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, operating commercial food service equipment, preparing and serving food according to health and sanitation standards, cleaning as assigned, assisting during emergencies, and assuming increased responsibilities during manager’s absence
• Maintains high standards of work habits, sanitation, and safety; reports any accidents according to District policy
• Maintains records and reports as required by manager
• Understands and follows oral and written directions
• Participates in inservice training programs as provided by the District and/or state
