Food Service Assistant - FT - Rotating Shifts - Pohai Nani

About the role

The Food Service Assistant at GSS HI Kaneohe is responsible for various duties including monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning, sanitizing equipment, and operating equipment such as beverage machines, toasters, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers. This position requires adherence to HACCP guidelines and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitized serving area
• Prepare and serve food items
• Restock food areas
• Clean and sanitize equipment
• Operate equipment such as beverage machines, toasters, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers
• Comply with HACCP guidelines
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Maintain quality control standards

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money, and knowledge of food service preferred
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
• Basic math skills

Qualifications

• Preferably, experience working in the food industry
• Able to work independently when necessary
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes
• Able to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances

Skills

• Customer service skills
• Equipment operation (beverage machines, toasters, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, freezers)
• Food safety and sanitation knowledge
• Independent work ability

Pay

$17.50 - $27.50 per hour, with a $1,000.00 sign-on bonus eligible.

Schedule

Full time, rotating shifts, 32 weekly hours.
