About the role
The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high-quality food for patients, staff, and other customers. In the hospital setting, nutrition is crucial to the healing process, and the Food Service Assistant serves a vital role in supporting this process. Responsibilities include food preparation and delivery with a high standard of quality and sanitation, as well as customer service, serving, cleaning, and sanitation.
A high level of customer service to internal and external customers, attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude are required.
Schedule
- Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20
- Shift: Evening (1:00 PM - 9:30 PM)
Requirements
- Basic reading and writing skills and ability to perform simple math
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to follow directions and work as a team player
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to move quickly
- Must be 16 years of age or older
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred, but not required)
- Experience: None required
