About the Role
The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high quality food for patients, staff, and other customers. In the hospital setting, nutrition is crucial to the healing process, and the Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in helping patients with this process.
Responsibilities
- Performing preparation and delivery of food with a high standard of quality and sanitation.
- Additional duties will include customer service, serving, cleaning and sanitation.
- A high level of customer service to internal and external customers, attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude is required.
Requirements
- No formal education required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Basic reading and writing skills and ability to do simple math.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to follow directions and work together as a team player.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to move quickly.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
