Food Service Assistant

About the role

Full-time, school-year only position for the 2026-27 School Year.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food, and cleans food service facility in accordance with proper sanitation guidelines.
• Follows proper sanitation procedures in food preparation, use and care of equipment.
• Attends job-related training classes, workshops and meetings.
• P Practices safe work methods; assists in keeping work areas and equipment in safe operating condition; and promptly notifies the Food Service Director of any safety hazardous conditions.
• Completes assigned tasks within allocated time limits.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Food Service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• ServeSafe Certification or the ability to obtain ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Ability to follow written and verbal recipes and instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale system and make change.
• Ability to do simple calculations, divide, multiply, add, subtract, and count.
• Previous food service experience preferred.

Pay

• Pay range: $18.45 - $22.81, based upon experience.
