Food Service Aide - PRN

Job Summary

Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Food Service Aide to join our team. The position offers per diem coverage from 10:30 am - 7:00 pm weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food in a timely and efficient manner
• Operate equipment and perform related duties in a safe manner
• Maintain compliance to regulatory requirements for safe food handling, by following sanitation, infection control, risk management guidelines and HACCP plan
• Complete all procedures scheduled during the shift without compromising the quality of work
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, including pulling trash, sweeping, mopping
• Absorb and communicate patient dietary needs, offering alternative menu options for food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences
• Update and validate diet changes in the patient diet management system, prints and distributes reports, tallies, menus and meal tickets
• Stock nourishment rooms and assist with kitchen stocking
• Perform cafeteria duties as assigned including serving, grilling, stocking, cleaning and cash handling

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Preferred: Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling
• Preferred: Healthcare/restaurant experience
• Preferred: Commitment to customer service
• Willingness to perform routine tasks and effectively work alongside the culinary team and leaders
