Food Service Aide I
Job Summary
Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a Food Service Aide to join our Main Kitchen team. We are a leading orthopedic and rheumatology hospital that has received multiple prestigious awards, including the Magnet designation for nursing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform diversified duties related to all departmental food service activities including receiving, storing, inventory, issues, production, assembly, and service to the customer.
- Support in the cleaning/sanitation and maintenance of all related food service/work areas.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in Food and Nutrition or related field preferred.
- Specialized vocational courses are a definite plus.
What You Will Be Doing
You will perform a variety of tasks within the kitchen, ensuring that all food service activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. Your duties will include receiving, storing, and managing inventory, preparing meals, and serving customers. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food service areas.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay scale for this position is $29.15 - $30.21 per hour. This position is eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
