Food Service Aide

About the role

The Food Service Aide performs a variety of food service assignments to provide meals and service to customers. This position supports organizational goals by delivering quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to department procedures
• Operate cashiering systems
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
• Clean and sanitize food service areas and equipment
• Stock assigned areas with supplies
• Demonstrate competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior related experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to walk, stand, and reach for long periods of time
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
• Good hand/eye coordination
• Ability to work in adverse conditions, such as wet floors, extreme temperature changes, sharp/dangerous equipment, and hot foods and liquids

Work Environment

• Potential exposure to hazards and risks of a hospital environment, including infectious disease and hazardous substances
• Essential functions are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Food Services Supervisor.
