Food Server- On Call-Banquets

About the role

A Food Server provides prompt, courteous service to hotel patrons and ensures guests receive a pleasurable dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge customers immediately with a smile
• Inform guests of any specials and have a full understanding of the menu to answer any questions
• Take beverage orders and serve in a timely manner
• Ensure food orders are correct before serving to guests
• Monitor tables closely and be attentive to guests’ needs
• Clear empty plates and glasses from tables and place quickly in bus carts
• Prepare sections and side stations, ensuring tables are cleaned and set properly
• Prepare silverware neatly and quickly at tables; clean the area when finished
• Keep all areas clean and free of debris
• Exemplify the hotel’s core values, family-style service, mission, and vision
• Embody the hotel’s DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) culture
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 6 months of previous food server experience
• At least 21 years of age
• Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, in a professional manner
• Neat and professional appearance
• Ability to interact with customers, the public, and co-workers
• Teamwork with other staff members
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment involving constant public interaction
• Requires carrying serving trays weighing up to 15 lbs. and may require lifting bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke
• Schedule flexibility, including days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
