Responsibilities

  • Deliver and set up food and beverage service in guest rooms.
  • Aid in completing side work duties.
  • Review orders for proper presentation and completeness before delivery.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all requested food items and necessary supplies.
  • Clock guest check-out and in.
  • Serve beverages to guests upon delivery.
  • Perform side work such as filling sugar bowls, salt/pepper shakers, folding napkins, and organizing storage areas.
  • Complete service preparation functions as required.
  • Obtain food and beverage orders from hotel outlets as requested by guests.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules to accommodate guests.
  • Facilitate immediate guest request accommodations.
  • Follow all applicable safety precautions.
  • Treat guests courteously and respectfully.
  • Present items according to department guidelines.
  • Provide direction and support to bus persons.
  • Assist in cleaning guest corridors after service.
  • Facilitate the immediate accommodations of guest requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous food server experience required (6 months).
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Professional appearance required.
  • Ability to interact with customers, public, and co-workers.
  • Teamwork with other staff members required.
  • Ability to obtain/renew required licenses/certifications, including a health card and alcohol awareness card.
  • Fast-paced, high-volume environment with constant public interaction.
  • Shifts may vary based on business needs.
  • Must be able to work inside and maneuver throughout the restaurant and property.
  • Must be able to access kitchen areas when picking up food orders.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to balance a food tray, weighing up to 25 pounds, above shoulder level with one arm.
  • Must be able to lift, stoop, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, pull, and push when necessary.
  • Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously by being well-organized and attentive to details.
  • Must be able to tolerate hot temperatures in the kitchen areas.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke.
