About the Role
Era Living is seeking 3 part-time Food Servers to become the newest members of our Dining Services team located in our Ida Culver House Broadview in North Seattle, WA. The 3 available shifts will be scheduled either 6:00AM to 2:30PM, 3:00PM to 4:00PM, OR, 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Exact days will be discussed and must be able to work weekends. Potential to become a full time position if able to work more than one of the listed shifts.
Responsibilities
- Greet, seat, and provide food and beverage service for residents and guests in the dining-room
- Provide support and service for special events in the Community
- Attend and participate in the pre-meal and post-meal responsibilities; assist in the set-up, service and breakdown daily
- Perform host duties as required, greeting and seating residents and guests
- Manage seating, take accurate orders, and ensure prompt service
- Serve meals following established service standard techniques
- Manage resident to-go meals and delivery per Community standards
- Bus and clean tables after each course; clean and sanitize the dining room in preparation for the next shift
- Assist in the set-up, service, and breakdown of resident functions held in the private dining room or other common areas
- Respond to resident questions, needs, and concerns; provide comment cards for residents. Report all compliments and complaints to Dining Services Director
- Assist dishwasher in storing clean dishes
- Follow all established safety standards; report any safety concerns to the Dining Services Director or Executive Director
Qualifications
- Amazing customer service skills
- Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of older adults
- Ability to follow established food service practices, ability to perform all aspects of host, busser, and food server functions
- Ability to take and submit food orders within established policies
- Ability to manage time effectively and remain productive throughout shift
- Ability to use good interpersonal skills when interacting with Residents, family members, visitors and co-workers
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to pass DSHS background check, required
Required Certifications
- Food Handler's Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire, required
- First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, as required
- Washington State Alcohol Permit or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, as required

Schedule
