Food Security VISTA- Save the Children and Baylor
Member Duties
An AmeriCorps VISTA member will advance statewide food security efforts in South Carolina by strengthening data, partnerships, and systems that improve access to nutritious food for children and families. The member will collect and analyze community-level data on food insecurity, poverty, and food access to build a comprehensive statewide inventory of food assistance programs and create maps and visual tools that identify service gaps and high-need areas. They will prepare reports and summaries to inform stakeholders and guide strategic decisions. The VISTA will re-engage existing partners, recruit new cross-sector partners, and facilitate conversations to assess shared goals and capacity. They will support coalition development by organizing meetings, improving communication, and helping partners establish shared strategies.
