About the role
The Research and Development Food Scientist position at Monogram Foods serves as a technical services consultant, responsible for developing and supporting the commercialization of new products from conception through first production. Monogram Foods is a leading food manufacturer specializing in co-manufacturing, private label, and food service solutions, with a focus on quality and flavor.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice to support the commercialization of new products.
- Make bench samples with new and existing formulations within customer parameters and plant capabilities.
- Support, plan, and lead plant trials of new products and first productions, managing and collaborating with customers regarding expectations and results, and coordinating as necessary with internal team members.
- Oversee the shipping of bench, finished goods, and raw material samples internally and to customers as required.
- Ensure that active finished good production specification documents are created and updated.
- Manage the change controls of new raw materials.
- Provide educated information to the team as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field is required. HACCP training is preferred.
- Experience: Five or more years of product development experience.
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
Skills
- A valid, current driver’s license is required.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and protocols.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
- Works in an office and laboratory environment.
- May be required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment.
- May be required to work near moving mechanical parts.
