About the Role
Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician and play a key role in ensuring every product meets the highest standards! In this position, you’ll monitor production processes, verify compliance with company, regulatory, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, and help maintain a safe and high-quality environment throughout plant operations. Responsibilities
- Accurately conduct product reviews for compliance to include grading, packaging, and weights.
- Monitor and enforce company Quality and Food Safety Policies.
- Perform product reviews on various products with the Operations Group.
- Familiarize with the facility’s Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation Operation Procedures and implement Corrective Actions if deviations are observed.
- Continually evaluate potential for foreign material contamination while in assigned work areas.
- Perform other tasks and duties as directed by management to meet department and operations business needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food quality and/or safety.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in poultry, food processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors (10ppm) and chlorine (less than 20 ppm).
- Able to stand for several hours.
- Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
