Tyson is an Equal Opportunity Employer... (boilerplate)
We provide our team members and their families with paid time off; 401(k) plans; affordable health, life, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; and more.
If you would like to learn more about your data privacy rights... (boilerplate)
Unsolicited Assistance... (boilerplate)
We need to remove boilerplate: EEO, privacy notice, unsolicited assistance, background check mention? The background check is part of job details but maybe not boilerplate? It's a condition but could be considered part of requirements? It's not a duty. Might be considered generic but it's specific to Tyson. However instructions: Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The background check statement is not exactly EEO but it's a condition; might be considered part of "application instructions"? It says "Certain roles at Tyson require background checks. If you are offered a position that requires a background check you will be provided additional documentation to complete once an offer has been extended." That's more of a general statement, could be considered boilerplate. Also "Hourly Applicants ONLY -You must complete the task after submitting your application to provide additional information to be considered for employment." That's application instruction, should be removed.
Also "The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation." That's generic but maybe keep? It's about physical requirements; but we already have Physical Requirements section. Could be considered redundant. Might be removed as boilerplate.
We need to include sections only when posting has real specific content.
We have:
- About the role: The first paragraph(s) describing role: "The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor plays a pivotal role in upholding quality standards for our food products. This role involves engaging in variable work activities that demand sound judgment, including prioritization, result evaluation, and effective coordination with colleagues. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards of products produced on a specific shift." That's substantive.
- Responsibilities: The list of duties.
- Requirements: Education, Experience, Computer Skills, Communication Skills, Supervisory, Physical Requirements, Position Specific Requirements (must reside in US, no sponsorship, relocation assistance eligible), Work Shift (1ST SHIFT). Also maybe include "Relocation Assistance Eligible: Yes" as part of Benefits? Could be a benefit. But we have Benefits section maybe for paid time off, 401(k), health etc. The posting says: "We provide our team members and their families with paid time off; 401(k) plans; affordable health, life, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; and more." That's benefits. So we should include Benefits section with those items.
- Pay: Not mentioned. So omit Pay section.
- Schedule: Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America). That's schedule info. So we can include Schedule section with that.
- Qualifications: Might be similar to Requirements; but we can combine. The instruction says use headings for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to decide which to use. We have Requirements (education, experience). We have Skills (computer skills, communication skills). We have Qualifications maybe for certifications? Could include HACCP/HARPC certifications preferred, broad knowledge etc. But we could also put those under Requirements or Skills. To avoid thin sections, we should combine similar items into fewer sections. The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So we should maybe have About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements (including education, experience, certifications, physical requirements, position specific), Benefits, Schedule. Skills could be merged into Requirements. Qualifications maybe not needed.
Thus sections:
About the role
...
Responsibilities
- ... ...
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year in a food manufacturing environment is required. RTE (Ready to Eat) experience is highly preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred. HACCP/HARPC certifications are preferred, along with broad knowledge of HACCP, USDA, GMP, and SSOPs.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for creating simple queries and spreadsheets. SAP knowledge preferred.
- Communication Skills: Written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate across multiple disciplines. Ability to communicate both verbally and written with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials. High-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a small group of personnel who perform somewhat similar tasks.
- Physical Requirements: Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs; ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day; must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90°F; must be able to work in wet environment; repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling; must be able to reach high and low levels frequently; ability to climb step ladders and/or stairs; must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed; position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification.
- Position Specific Requirements: Must reside in the United States to be considered; sponsorship is not available for this position; relocation assistance eligible.
Benefits
- Paid time off
- 401(k) plans
- Affordable health, life, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits
Schedule
Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America)
We must not include Pay section. Check for any duplicated lines: Ensure we didn't repeat. Check for any boilerplate leftover: We removed EEO, privacy notice, unsolicited assistance, background check, hourly applicants instruction, etc. Check for any "Highly recommend submitting a resume when applying" - that's application instruction, should be removed. So we should not include that sentence in About the role. The About the role paragraph currently includes that sentence? We omitted it. Good. Check for "Certain roles at Tyson require background checks..." removed. Check for "Hourly Applicants ONLY -You must complete the task after submitting your application..." removed. Check for "The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation." removed (we didn't include). Check for "We provide our team members and their families with paid time off; 401(k) plans; affordable health, life, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; and more." We turned into benefits list. Check for "If you would like to learn more about your data privacy rights..." removed. Check for "Unsolicited Assistance: Tyson Foods..." removed. Now ensure we didn't miss any substantive info: The "Flexible Work Hours: Flexibility in work hours is required, with coverage on other shifts as needed." and "Weekend Work: Occasional weekend work may be assigned by the Manager." Those are schedule-related but we have schedule only as 1ST SHIFT. Should we incorporate flexible hours and weekend work into Schedule section? The schedule section could include those details. The posting says Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America). Also flexible work hours required, coverage on other shifts as needed, occasional weekend work may be assigned. That's schedule info. So we should include those in Schedule section, maybe as a list. Thus Schedule section could have:- Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America)
- Flexible work hours required, with coverage on other shifts as needed
- Occasional weekend work may be assigned by the Manager
