Food Safety and Quality Assurance Program Compliance Supervisor

About the role
Join our team as a HACCP Compliance Supervisor and play a key role in strengthening food safety and quality excellence across our operations. In this role, you will lead efforts to evaluate and reinforce compliance with food safety and quality programs, ensuring policies, regulatory requirements, and internal standards are consistently met. You will partner closely with plant and FSQA teams to drive continuous improvement, support accurate documentation and recordkeeping, and uphold a culture of accountability, integrity, and food safety leadership.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine in-plant audits of facility compliance with Perdue FSQA Policies.
- Assure all certification programs (BRC, Process Verified, Organic, Gluten Free, GAP, etc.) are audited at the plant level to meet all clauses and requirements for continued certification, including in-plant generated documentation.
- Participate in all external audits with certification bodies and government agencies.
- Generate audit result reports with deficiencies and present them to plant operations and FSQA managers.
- Obtain corrective action plans for deficient areas, including assigned personnel, completion dates, and verification of completed items.
- Assure plant programs for all certification bodies are reviewed and updated at the specified frequency.
- Update HACCP plans after re-assessments are completed with the FSQA Manager.
- Utilize auditing software for audit instruments, corrective action reporting, and development of new audit instruments.
- Assure regulatory and certification documents or electronic records are accurate and accessible upon request by regulatory agencies or certification bodies.
- Notify Plant Operations and FSQA Management of corrective actions when records are incomplete, inaccurate, or do not meet program or regulatory requirements.
- Assure records maintenance associates are properly trained and complete all job tasks as assigned.
- Fill in for FSQA supervisors and Manager in their absence.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree.
- 5 years of processing plant FSQA experience.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other web-based software applications.
- HACCP certification and Internal Auditor certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food safety, quality, or a related field.
- Harvest plant experience (preferred depending on location).
- Experience with FSQA records management and auditing software.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
- In a plant environment, exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28°F to 100°F with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle products from 25°F to 50°F.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 dB.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facilities.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- May need to climb ladders.
