Yellowstone Mountain Club, located in Big Sky, Montana, is seeking full-time, temporary Food Runners for the winter season.

About the role

Food Runners support Servers by delivering food and beverages to Members and guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner. They communicate clearly with front-of-house and kitchen staff, set and clear tables, assist with glassware upkeep, and maintain a clean and organized dining area and workstation.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all F&B standard operating procedures and sequence-of-service standards.
  • Deliver food and beverages to Members and guests when Servers need assistance.
  • Set, clean, and clear tables.
  • Assist with glassware upkeep and maintain a clean dining area and workstation.
  • Perform opening duties:
    • Stock server stations with glassware, silverware, napkins, condiments, and trays.
    • Set up water stations and prepare trays for service.
    • Assist in light cleaning or sweeping of floors in service areas.
    • Set up buffets for brunches.
  • Perform closing duties:
    • Remove and store all trays and utensils.
    • Clean and sanitize server stations.
    • Transport used dishware to the dish room and restock clean items.
    • Take out trash and recycling as needed.
  • Lift and carry heavy trays (up to 40 pounds) loaded with plated meals, beverages, and service ware from the kitchen to dining areas.

Requirements

  • Three months of restaurant service experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check at the employer’s expense.
  • Worksites are located in Gallatin and Madison Counties, Montana; occasional travel within this area is required.
  • Transportation between worksites is provided by the employer.
  • Employees not staying in employer-provided housing must arrange their own transportation to designated pickup/drop-off spots.

Pay

  • Wage: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
  • Overtime: $25.50 – $37.50 per hour.
  • Eligible for additional income via service charge.

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, with additional hours available during peak times (including overtime).
  • Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Example shifts: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, or 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM.
  • Work hours vary by location and can include early morning, morning, afternoon, evening, or late evening.

Housing

  • Optional seasonal housing offered on a first-come, first-served basis for workers relocating for employment.
  • Cost: $225.00 – $700.00 biweekly, depending on location and room style, due in advance.
  • Housing may be single or double-occupancy; limited couples’ options available.
  • Refundable security deposit: $250.00 – $400.00, returned within 30 days if unit is left clean and in move-in-ready condition.
  • Bedding and terry sets not provided but available for purchase ($112 – $160).
  • Transportation provided between housing venues and Yellowstone Club.

  • After 3,200 hours worked (subject to conditions), workers achieve “Key Seasonal” status and may qualify for:
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield.
    • Vacation and sick time accrual.
  • Workers with fewer than 3,200 hours (“Seasonal” status) are ineligible for medical, dental, vision, vacation, or sick time.
  • Optional ski pass purchase available.
  • Employer guarantees work for at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period.
  • Employer covers all tools, supplies, and equipment required for the job.
  • Transportation and subsistence reimbursement:
    • Employer pays or reimburses inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek.
    • Upon contract completion or early dismissal, employer covers reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs (except if worker secures subsequent employment).
    • Daily subsistence: $16.78 per day during travel, up to $68.00 per day with receipts.
  • H-2B workers reimbursed in the first workweek for visa, visa processing, border crossing, and related government-mandated fees (excluding passport fees).
