About the role
Food Runners are vital to providing the Nando’s experience. Food Runners ensure that food reaches the correct guest in a timely manner. They transport food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate table, announce the food to the guest, and keep a smile while cleaning, setting, and resetting tables. Runners work with the team to exceed guests’ expectations and deliver the Nando’s experience.
Responsibilities
- Transport food orders from the kitchen to the correct table
- Announce food to guests
- Clean, set, and reset tables continuously
- Maintain responsibility for station, tables, and side duties
- Work as part of a team to exceed guest expectations
Requirements
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge
- Knowledge and comprehension of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- Basic English language and professional communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Able to independently lift up to 15 lbs for an extended period
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs with food items and dishes throughout your shift
- Must be able to walk and/or stand for 8-10 hours per day
- Hand-eye coordination
- Reaching, bending, twisting, stooping
- Pushing and pulling
- Lifting overhead
- Must be able to climb stairs in restaurants that have multiple levels
