Food Production Tech III (Cook) - Food and Nutrition (Days)

About the role

This position focuses on preparing ingredients and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, and production checklists. Responsibilities include portioning, chopping, storing food, washing and peeling produce, weighing and mixing ingredients, preparing cold foods, and operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. The role requires testing food for proper cooking, monitoring food quality during preparation, and ensuring leftover food is labeled and stored correctly. Maintaining sanitation and cleanliness is an integral part of the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (will accept 5 years of experience in lieu of diploma or GED)
• Two years of related experience
• Experience with bulk cooking for more than 200 people
• Knowledge and application of HACCP guidelines
• Proficient knowledge of cooking methods including braising, roasting, frying, baking, and blanching
• Proficient use of slicer, grill, fryers, oven, and steamers
• Proficient knife skills
• Ability to perform duties with quality results
• Good personal hygiene
• Must complete ServSafe Food Handler Training course within 6 months of hire
• Must complete ServSafe Allergens training within 6 months of hire
