Responsibilities

  • Join our growing team as the Mid-Shift Food Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the plant to ensure the production process is running smoothly and efficiently, and supervising various department Team Leaders, including Production and Quality Assurance.
  • Optimizes production with a lean mindset, productivity, maximizing yield, accurate reporting and ensuring the highest quality for our customers.
  • Maintains compliance with manufacturing and food safety practices.
  • Works closely with QA to identify departmental and kitchen issues.
  • Supervises the daily activities to ensure proper Food Safety and Quality.
  • Reviews and updates work aids essential for verification of product quality.
  • Responsible for managing the overall daily production process.
  • Trains and coaches the team to meet defined productivity targets.
  • Assists with identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Previews production and operating reports and resolves operational manufacturing and maintenance problems, to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Develops and works with supervisors in all areas such as problem-solving, setting and achieving goals, manufacturing processes, scheduling and equipment problems.
  • Trains and cross-trains all employees on the production line, evaluate and review production staff, and recommend/initiate disciplinary actions.
  • Encourages and promotes a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Assists in special projects and generates a summary of the project’s performance.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment required, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or 4 years as a Lead in a manufacturing environment.
  • Equivalent combinations of related education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Experience with quality systems and knowledge of statistics, HACCP, Food Safety Programs, and Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and proactive with the initiative to take the next level.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish required.
  • Able to work in a cold refrigerated environment.
