Food Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Optimizes production with a lean mindset, productivity, and maximizes yield.
  • Accurately reports and ensures the highest quality for customers.
  • Maintains compliance with manufacturing and food safety practices.
  • Works closely with QA to address departmental and kitchen issues.
  • Safeguards food safety and quality through daily supervision.
  • Reviews and updates work aids for product quality verification.
  • Manages the daily production process and sets productivity targets.
  • Trains and coaches the team to meet defined productivity targets.
  • Identifies and implements process improvement initiatives.
  • Previews production and operating reports to resolve operational issues.
  • Assists with problem-solving, setting and achieving goals, manufacturing processes, scheduling, and equipment problems.
  • Trains and cross-trains all employees on the production line.
  • Evaluates and reviews production staff and recommends/initiates disciplinary actions.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Assists in special projects and generates summaries of project performance.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity or 4 years as a Lead in a manufacturing environment.
  • Equivalent combinations of related education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Experience with quality systems and knowledge of statistics, HACCP, Food Safety Programs, and Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Reliable, responsible, proactive, and initiative-driven.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work in a cold refrigerated environment.
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • The location operates 7 days a week.
