Responsibilities
- Food Merchandising: Ensure grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly; complete build‑to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise; check in deliveries, price items, and stock according to schematic; validate deliveries against invoices and resolve discrepancies with the Store Manager; prepare and price in‑store displays; rotate food items and monitor quality and freshness; maintain food preparation areas and display cases.
- Customer Satisfaction: Provide prompt, courteous service; greet customers on entry and thank them on exit; resolve routine customer concerns within guidelines; adhere to dress and appearance code; prepare and serve quality food and beverage.
- Facility Condition: Maintain a safe and clean work environment by sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing windows, counters, displays, and bathrooms; dispose of trash and debris; inspect facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper operation; clean, sanitize, and maintain food‑service equipment.
- Administrative: Attend job‑related meetings (including occasional irregular hours); foster cooperation within the department; comply with company policies and procedures; contribute to team effort; perform duties with minimal supervision; complete other tasks assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Retail sales experience preferred.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts and arrive on time.
- Effective oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.
- Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions as described.
Physical Requirements
- Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes; occasional work in walk‑in cooler/freezer and outdoors.
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 30 lb from ground to overhead and up to 50 lb from ground to waist.
- Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift; hand‑eye coordination required.
- Push/pull with up to 20 lb force using a hand‑truck.
- Reach overhead, bend, twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, squat, and stand or walk for an entire shift.
- Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
- Work alone; occasional exposure to noise; may need to climb a ladder.
Work Environment
- Approximately 95 % of work performed indoors; occasional outdoor tasks such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, and taking out garbage.
- Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk‑in cooler/freezer and occasional noise.
- Work with minimal direction and periodic supervision.
