About the role
The Assistant, Food Pantry plays a crucial role in supporting Vivent Health's mission to enhance the well-being of the communities we serve. This role involves overseeing the efficient operation of the food pantry, ensuring that individuals have access to nutritious food resources.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist clients accessing the food pantry with empathy and respect.
- Ensure a positive and dignified experience for all individuals seeking assistance.
- Collaborate with other program staff to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain detailed records of food distribution activities.
- Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure freshness and compliance with safety standards.
- Report any issues promptly.
- Participate in the smooth operation of food distribution processes.
- Pack and distribute food items according to established guidelines, ensuring equitable and efficient service.
- Assist in compiling data for reports, documenting the number of clients served, and other relevant metrics.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and community partners.
- Adhere to all agency policies, including Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, and other relevant policies.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit or community service setting.
- Valid Government Issued Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, or an eagerness to learn about this community.
- Flexibility in response to change, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
- Must have valid drivers license.
Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
