Food Nutrition Service Worker

Schedule

Day Shift, Full Time. Hours: 10:30 AM–7:00 PM or 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and serve food according to hospital recipes, menus, and dietary requirements.
• Assemble patient meal trays accurately and deliver them to patient units.
• Follow special diet orders, including modified diets, allergies, and texture restrictions.
• Wash, sanitize, and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, work areas, and food-service carts.
• Store food properly and check food temperatures to maintain safety and quality.
• Follow hospital infection-control, food-safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Stock food, supplies, trays, and kitchen materials as needed.
• Collect and wash used trays, dishes, and utensils.
• Assist cooks and other kitchen staff with food preparation and cleaning.
• Communicate professionally with patients, nurses, dietary staff, and other hospital employees.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Food Service Supervisor or Manager, including deep cleaning, utility work, dishwashing, delivering patient trays, and retrieving patient trays.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous food service, kitchen, cafeteria, or healthcare experience is helpful.
• Able to stand for long periods, lift and move food-service supplies, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
