About the Role

As a Delivery Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our carefully crafted meals reach kindergartens safely and on time. You’ll be the face of our company during deliveries, fostering relationships with school staff and ensuring that every delivery is handled with care. We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment where you can grow personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals from the catering facility to the assigned School on a set route.
• Load and unload food items safely and securely, ensuring all meals are handled according to health and safety standards.
• Verify that all deliveries match the packing list, and ensure proper documentation is completed at delivery sites.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
• Communicate with the kitchen and operations team regarding any delays, changes in orders, or issues during delivery.
• Adhere to all traffic regulations and drive safely and efficiently.
• Ensure that food is delivered on time and in optimal condition, maintaining temperature control as required.
• Build a positive relationship with staff at delivery locations.
• Participate in the daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly cleaning schedules of the work areas to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Report any maintenance or issues with the vehicle promptly.
• Assist with other tasks assigned by the direct leader, such as helping the kitchen team with packing food or other tasks as needed.

Food Safety

• Basic understanding of food handling during transport.
• Maintain required holding temperatures during delivery.
• Keep delivery vehicles clean and organized.
• Avoid cross-contamination during loading/unloading.
• Follow hygiene and sanitation procedures.

Behavioral Expectations

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Courteous and professional with school staff.
• Follow instructions and company policies.
• Willingness to learn routes, procedures, and expectations.

Requirements

• A positive attitude and passion for working in a mission-driven company.
• Ability to adapt to changes that the operation requires.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in delivery driving, preferably in the food industry.
• Familiarity with basic food safety standards (training will be provided).
• Strong attention to detail, with an emphasis on time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Flexibility to work early morning hours and adapt to scheduling changes.
