Pay
The starting pay range for this position is $20.75 - $22.75 per hour. The full pay range is $20.75 - $35.25 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts in operations, process, and efficiency, leading food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, and ensuring price accuracy and promotional signing processes.
This role provides meaningful experiences to build and develop skills for a career, including:
- Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first and freshness culture
- Food & Beverage business fundamentals, such as department sales trends, freshness, food safety, quality, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, and pricing and promotions strategies
- Planning daily/weekly workload to support Food & Beverage priorities and deliver sales goals
- Leading a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, training, coaching, evaluating, retaining, and developing talent
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience.
- Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and operations.
- Actively observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, improve performance, and align the team on behaviors and execution.
- Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, and promotions.
- Lead a guest-focused, efficient Food & Beverage team by completing the Food & Beverage Daily Standards walk.
- Assess backroom and sales floor areas daily by walking the Target Food & Beverage Standards. Prioritize business needs and identify workload tasks for the team.
- Establish clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable.
- Partner with the store leadership team through communication and collaboration to influence sales performance and workload deliverables.
- Maintain a fresh, full, and food-safe area during all operating hours using strong inventory management and Food Safety policies.
- Assign daily tasks based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Validate and follow up on team members' progress against assigned tasks and routines.
- Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing best practices, closing skill gaps through development, coaching, and training.
- Lead team huddles to communicate focuses and trends, leveraging store reporting and HQ communications.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with vendors to ensure clear expectations, brand standards, and reliable in-stock levels.
- Ensure product availability by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
- Support hiring and onboarding of new team members.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU), maintaining a compliance culture.
- Become a subject matter expert in federal, state, and local adult beverage laws to protect the store’s liquor license (if applicable).
- Lead the team to uphold all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards and foster productive partnerships (if applicable).
- Complete all Starbucks and/or Pizza Hut training requirements or certifications (if applicable).
- Foster a productive relationship with your Starbucks district manager (if applicable).
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, holding the team accountable.
- Lead and demonstrate a safety culture, modeling and recognizing safe behaviors.
- Support merchandise protection strategies across the store.
- Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches.
- Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities.
- Address all store emergency and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail and/or food experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Effective communication skills using multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders if needed.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary.
- Ability to work in environments with refrigeration, freezer temperatures, and common allergens.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts.
