About the role
The Town Center Supervisor at Fisher Island Club is responsible for overseeing the restaurants/bar/pool operations within the town center. This position is part of the luxury hospitality industry and offers competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example with a hands-on approach to management
- Establish and develop a highly motivated front of house team with the highest ethical standards
- Facilitate an environment where team members are comfortable utilizing the open-door policy
- Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate the work of the front of house staff
- Plan menus with the Sous Chef, Director, and Senior Food & Beverage Manager of Town Center Operations for special occasions and events
- Ensure high standards of sanitation, personal appearance, hygiene, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout all club areas
- Safeguard all food-preparation employees by implementing training on safety, sanitation, and accident prevention
- Exercise portion control and assist in establishing menu selling prices
- Prepare necessary data for applicable parts of the budget, project annual food, labor, and other costs, and monitor actual financial results
- Host Daily Stand-Up meetings and attend Food and Beverage staff and management meetings
- Maintain an inventory of dining room items and ensure proper storage and accounting
- Implement an ongoing marketing program to increase dining room business
- Consult with the Senior Food & Beverage Manager of Town Center Operations about all aspects of the club operation
- Directly supervise employees serving members and guests to the LQA standards
- Evaluate service to ensure quality provided meets the LQA standards
- Develop and maintain good communication and work relationships in all areas of the club
- Aid in the development of policies and procedures to enhance and measure quality
- Assist in recruiting, evaluating job performance of service staff, coaching, rewarding, and disciplining staff in a fair and legal compliant manner
- Establish and maintain a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule for all front of house areas and bar
- Motivate, build morale, and provide professional development opportunities for all service staff including cross-training
- Maintain a 90% presence on the dining and bar areas during service, touching tables, following up on special requests, welcoming members, and inquiring about experiences
- Execute safety training programs; manage OSHA-related aspects of kitchen safety and report unsafe working conditions immediately
- Liaise with government regulating agencies such as Health Inspectors as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience
- Two to three years of luxury service and management experience in high-volume, 3-meal restaurants in luxury hotels or resorts
- Alcoholic beverage certification and food safety certification
