About the role
As Food & Beverage Manager you will assist the Senior Food & Beverage Manager by leading and inspiring each team member to provide an exceptional guest experience. Operating at a high level of excellence will ensure each guest will know you genuinely care about the quality of their visit, creating a customer for life.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior F&B Manager to manage all food and beverage and banquet operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
- Achieve profitability through managing labor and food costs
- Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service
- Oversee banquet execution from setup through breakdown as well as supporting and overseeing the bar/restaurant operations
- Assist with inventory and ordering (food, beverage, and supplies)
- Help lead and train the F&B team
- Step into the kitchen to cook as needed
- Be flexible to move between leadership, banquets, bar service, and kitchen coverage based on business needs
- Identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all their concerns
- Attract, recruit, train, and appraise talented food and beverage personnel
- Establish goals, make schedules, and enforce policies and procedures
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Monitor and report sales and guest satisfaction results
- Strive to improve service performance
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors
- Communicate clear and consistent messages regarding processes throughout the food & beverage department
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and meet the expectations of customers on a daily basis
- Identify the developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge and skills
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the General Manager
Requirements
- At least 2 years of previous experience overseeing banquets, restaurant kitchen, and bar
- Culinary experience
- Ability to drive results and achieve desired performance outcomes
- Professional demeanor, warm and welcoming personality, and ability to engage easily and actively connect with others
- Genuinely caring and compassionate with a visible desire to understand others
- Natural instincts and insight for finding the best solution to unclear situations, issues, and problems
- Ability to create confidence and trust while communicating the right message at the right time
- Comfortable conversing with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and at all organizational levels
- Direct yet tactful and considerate of the audience
- Speak with others using clear and professional language
- Available on days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clean professional appearance
- Stand and walk for extended periods or all of shift; minimal sitting
- Ability to read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print, computer)
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 35 pounds without assistance
Pay
Salary Range: $49,000–56,750 annually
