About the role
The hotel food and beverage manager will oversee a 40-seat lobby restaurant and an 8-seat lobby bar at the Courtyard Tuscaloosa Bistro. This position is part of a company that values exceptional guest service and recognizes its associates as its best asset.
Responsibilities
- Daily oversight of the 40-seat lobby restaurant and 8-seat lobby bar
- Manage an average of 5-7 Bistro associates
- Maintain property food, beverage, and labor costs for the outlet
- Establish state, local, and management company regulations and policies in all areas of the food and beverage department
- Work flexible shifts based on hotel occupancy
- Schedule associates, control labor costs, order and inventory
- Supervise, train, discipline, promote, hire, and maintain inventory
- Perform line shift work to support labor and cost control
Requirements
- General knowledge of safe food service practices
- Understanding of Marriott Brand hotel reporting requirements
- Ability to obtain ServSafe certification and Alabama State beverage service certificate
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage management
- Experience with labor and cost control
- Ability to work flexible hours
Skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
