Purpose
The Food and Beverage Director provides overall leadership and management of the dining operations in the community.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Culinary | Executive Chef:
- Responsible for referring to the Resident Profile and diet orders for every new resident.
- Responsible for understanding the recognition of resident changes in condition and taking appropriate action.
- Responsible for conducting routine cooking demonstrations in accordance with Phoenix's philosophy of integrating all elements of wellness into resident care and services.
- Responsible for assisting the Community Engagement Director and Executive Director in communicating with prospective residents and family members about Phoenix’s personalized services and incorporation of all dimensions of wellness.
- Responsible for partnering with the Community Engagement Director and Point of Contact (POC) to create menus for professional and community events.
- Responsible for completing production sheets one week prior to service.
- Responsible for utilizing production worksheets to control the quality of foods prepared and ensuring they are completed prior to placing food orders for the next week.
- Responsible for adhering to the Phoenix Menu Program and ensuring all food in the Bistro and other common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated as applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring all meals are prepared according to Phoenix standards and served on time.
Requirements
- Educational Background:
- Graduate of a culinary institute is preferred.
- Professional Certifications:
- Possess a current Food Services Sanitation Certificate.
- Nutritional Knowledge:
- Possess knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
- Experience:
- Must have 2-3 years’ experience as a chef/cook.
- Leadership Skills:
- Must demonstrate leadership capabilities and be able to direct the work of others.
- Industry Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living industry is preferred.
