Food & Beverage Director

Purpose

The Food and Beverage Director provides overall leadership and management of the dining operations in the community.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Culinary | Executive Chef:
  • Responsible for referring to the Resident Profile and diet orders for every new resident.
  • Responsible for understanding the recognition of resident changes in condition and taking appropriate action.
  • Responsible for conducting routine cooking demonstrations in accordance with Phoenix's philosophy of integrating all elements of wellness into resident care and services.
  • Responsible for assisting the Community Engagement Director and Executive Director in communicating with prospective residents and family members about Phoenix’s personalized services and incorporation of all dimensions of wellness.
  • Responsible for partnering with the Community Engagement Director and Point of Contact (POC) to create menus for professional and community events.
  • Responsible for completing production sheets one week prior to service.
  • Responsible for utilizing production worksheets to control the quality of foods prepared and ensuring they are completed prior to placing food orders for the next week.
  • Responsible for adhering to the Phoenix Menu Program and ensuring all food in the Bistro and other common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated as applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring all meals are prepared according to Phoenix standards and served on time.

Requirements

• Educational Background:
  • Graduate of a culinary institute is preferred.
• Professional Certifications:
  • Possess a current Food Services Sanitation Certificate.
• Nutritional Knowledge:
  • Possess knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
• Experience:
  • Must have 2-3 years’ experience as a chef/cook.
• Leadership Skills:
  • Must demonstrate leadership capabilities and be able to direct the work of others.
• Industry Experience:
  • Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living industry is preferred.
