About the role
The Food & Beverage Attendant ensures high levels of quality and consistency in the hotel's buffet areas. They adhere to all health, sanitation, and cleanliness standards as per state and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and transport food and beverage items and supplies to and from buffet areas.
- Maintain adequate supplies of food, beverages, and other essentials to serve guests; replenish as needed.
- Follow preparation methods, times, and standards; monitor taste, appearance, and other aspects of food and beverages.
- Welcome guests and address their requests promptly and professionally; refer serious issues to management.
- Purchase and requisition inventory to ensure sufficient stock of food, beverages, and other items.
- Control food and beverage costs; maintain proper storage and minimize waste.
- Keep work and buffet areas clean and organized; report any unsafe conditions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Operate dishwashing machines and store clean dishes and utensils in designated locations.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to promote teamwork and quality service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Prior food preparation experience preferred.
- Ability to carry or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Standing and moving about the kitchen and cafeteria.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling.
- Effective communication skills.
- Reading and writing abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills.
