Food and Nutrition Aide
About the role
Under supervision, the Food and Nutrition Aide will wash pots and dishes, manually or by machine, remove trash to compactor, deliver and clean items to proper areas for storage, sweep and mop floors, and do assigned cleaning. The role also involves assembling patient trays, delivering carts, and returning carts to the kitchen after meals, as well as assisting with food production.
The population served includes patients with cardiac/cardiovascular, neuron, GI conditions and diseases, including but not limited to: CAD, PVD, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders.
Responsibilities
- Wash pots and dishes manually or with machine
- Remove trash from kitchen and cafeteria areas to trash compactor
- Deliver clean items to proper areas for storage
- Sweep and mop floor with soap and hot water, including under tables and refrigerators/freezers
- Do assigned cleaning daily
- Help assemble and deliver patient trays
- Deliver large carts and trays to the units
- Return large carts and trays to the units
- Assist with food production
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Food Handlers/Safety certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
